Panel Session 2: Empowering Communities: Insights and Challenges on the Path to a Low-Emissions Future

This presentation will showcase Clean Foundation’s programs that help communities and individuals decarbonize. Drawing from our Community Climate Capacity program, I will share lessons learned, challenges faced, and the barriers that communities and residents encounter in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As the Mitigation Specialist, I will provide insights on how local voices shape climate action in Nova Scotia.

Scott Osmond

Scott holds degrees in Civil Engineering and Geography from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. His experience spans government, not-for-profit organizations, and private industry, where he has contributed to a range of renewable energy projects, energy planning studies, and community education and engagement initiatives. Currently, Scott serves as the Mitigation Specialist for Clean Foundation’s Community Climate Capacity Program, working with 19 communities across Nova Scotia to help them achieve their greenhouse gas reduction and energy efficiency goals.
